Murphy's Tank: Automatic Gap-Crossing Vehicle

A tracked vehicle that drives itself across a 200 mm gap between two tables. Built by four of us for ME 2500J at SJTU, with a printed PLA frame, steel bracing, belt drive and an Arduino timer. It also carried a 75 kg person on flat ground.

GhostBust Hotline

A 2D top-down shooter written entirely in Elm, where the ghosts are invisible until you reveal them. I led a team of 3 and worked on the gameplay, ghost AI, particle effects and CI.

Minimal CI Server

A continuous integration server written from scratch in Java. On every push it checks out the commit, builds it with Maven, runs the tests and reports the result to GitHub. The server itself has about 70% test coverage.

CIFAR-10 Two-Layer Classifier

A two-layer neural network written from scratch in NumPy, trained with cyclical learning rates and a coarse-to-fine search for λ. Gradients match PyTorch to about 1e-16, and the best test accuracy was 49.77%.

Stop Lickin' POP

A Breakout-style arcade game in Elm. I figured out how the framework routes messages between scenes by reading its source code, and built the tadpole and egg enemies and the random level layouts.

Open Source: Apache Commons Imaging

Refactored a complex method in Apache's pure-Java imaging library and wrote tests for its untested branches. Cyclomatic complexity went from 20 to 8, and branch coverage of getImageInfo went from 83% to 96%.
